Prologue:
When brave explorers from the Ancient Lands first sailed across the vast ocean and discovered the Continent of Eptina, they marveled at its blinding beauty and its seemingly limitless resources. Some of these explorers quickly decided to settle in this strange new world, while others returned home with fantastic stories of the natural wonders they had seen.
These amazing tales inspired tens of thousands of citizens to exchange the boredom and squalor of their lives in the Ancient Lands for the thrill of the unknown. But these new settlers, many of them poor and uneducated, ironically brought with them the very dysfunctions of society that they had hoped to escape: poverty, crime, and inevitably- war:
The borders of the continent were drawn in blood, as hasitly formed nations fought each other over territorial rights and religious beliefs; for the most rediculous of reasons, and for the most noble of causes. Skies which had once been a brilliant blue were now thick with the ebony smoke of burning forests and smoldering ruins; rivers which had once been clear as glass were choked with the bloated bodies of the dead. And the Continent, which had once been a monument to the beauty of nature, was now a testament to the ugliness of man. Some believed that the Eptinan Wars might never end....until a miraculous discovery was made.
In the heart of the Pharsita Kingdom, archaeologist discovered evidence that the Continent had been populated one before -in the stunning form of several mechanical giants, which later became known simply as ATAC. Each ATAC resembled an armor-clad knight, and stood at least twenty-five feet in height. After months of analysis and experimentation, it was determined how the ATAC were controlled: by the focused thoughts of a "pilot," who sat inside the head of the ATAC as the machine literally read his mind.
With the awesome power of the ATAC added to its already formidable armies, it was only a matter of weeks before Pharasita assumed control of the entire Continent. A few countries attempted to fight the Kingdom, but as news of the ATAC and their unholy strength speard across the land, the remaning nations chose to surrender over annihilation.
The Continent was united at last, and the leaders of Pharastia decided that the power of the ATAC, which had proven so useful in war, could now be used to keep the peace. The most powerful of the excavated ATAC, once controlled by the King himself, was locked away in a secret location, while the remaining ATAC were distributed to different regions of the continent.
But the Pharastia Kingdom was unable to maintain control for very long. Coup d'etats and civil wars erupted, and the Kingdom soon found itself struggling not to preserve its rule of the Continent, but to preserve its own existence.
It is here, in the midst of the Second Eptinan Wars, that a spirited young man named Bastion is destined to learn of his central role in determining the ultimate fate of the Continent....
2nd Eptinan Wars
Bastion and his father, Kamorge, were honing their skills with a sword. Kamorge has been teaching bastion how to use a sword and an ATAC since he was very young. Bastion pauses for a second. "Father all this training is a waste of time!" said Bastion, "you know that I am ready to fight the emp...uhhh!" At that very moment Kamorge struck bastion over the head with his wooden training sword."What was that for?" Bastion asks while rubbing his head.
"To teach you that you still have alot to learn," replied Kamorge.
"You struck me when I wasn't ready, Father! That's hardly fair!" Bastion responded angrily.
"On the field of Battle, "fair" knows not who the deserving are, Bastion. It is a lesson you must learn," Kamorge said simply. Milea another one of Bastion's compainions runs torwards Bastion and Kamorge.
Out of breath but in a state of extreme urgency
she says, "Bastion! Kamorge! Didn't you see the smoke? The Empire is
attacking the village. I counted four ATACs before I came to get you."
Puck the mechanic of the outfit walks in and Bastion asks,"Are they ready
puck?"
"Sure they are bastion," responded puck.
"Well lets get going," Bastion, Puck, and milea all walk torwards the already warmed up ATACs.
Kamorge lags behind for a bit and thinks,"Damn the Empire! Damn them for finding us again."
On the battle field bastion yells out, "Stop terroizing these innocent citizens!"
The Imperial Chief in a surprised note asks, "Who are you?"
The Chiefs second in command tells the chief, "These are the rebels we were told to capture."
"Hmm I expected more than this...ohh well! ATTACK!!"
Bastion thinking quickly notices an area between him and the enemy ATACs that will provide cover and force the enemy to attack them head on. He quickly moves his ATAC forward into the middle of the area and waits for his enemy. The first enemy comes up to him and attacks, Bastion counter-attacks easily doding the ill-swung weapon and delievering a vicious thrust to his abdomen. The next enmey runs up and attacks too this time bastion can't dodge the weapon since he's now fighting 2 ATACs at the same time. he gets whacked by the slashing strike of the enemy but Bastion just laughs in his face at how weak the attack was, then delievers his own slahing attack chopping of the enemies shield arm off. Kamorge not to be outdone by the young fighter jumps into the fray putting all his might into a strong slash attack he takes the weapon arm off the stupid enemy ATAC who already has motor trouble from the thrust attack delievered to him by bastion. Bastion noticing this weakness quickly turns and thrust's his sword repeatidly at the enemy atac while all it can do is defend. Finally one of bastions attacks pierces his shield and goes strigte through to his magic power-stone and the ATAC falls helpnessly to the ground out of the fight.
Just then two more ATACs appear on the battle field. Baston noticing this yells out, "Father two MORE imperial ATACs have shown up!"
Kamorge keeping most of his attention of the reaming 3 ATACs closest to them responds, "Do not be so quick to justify they are with the Empire." He then attacks with a strong slash agaisnt the other ATAC Bastion wounded. Bastion followed up with a trust attack of his own taking the head off the enemy ATAC.
One of the new ATACs says,"Fear not, brave villagers. We shall save your humble homes from these heartless bastards!" Bastion while dodging an attack from the third ATAC responds,"Who are you?"
Reyna while moving her ATAC forward attracting the attention of the ATAC leader says, "I'm Reyna and my friend is Ione. We are here to destory these imperial scum."
Bastion retorts,"You mean after me and my father have destroyed them." And then takes out the third ATAC with a slash attack to the head. Kamorge runs after the forth ATAC who is the leader but he's just out of his reach. Ione and Reyna quickly surround the last remaining ATAC and pummel it into ablivion.
After the tiring battle the four warriors meet up and introduce themselves. Reyna and Ione say they are from the Avalon Corps. Which come from the Avalon Principality, who have been allied against the Empier with the Pharastia Kingdom. Kamorge introduces Bastion and himself and say's he's very grateful for their assitance.
Kamorge asks, " Do either of you know
Galvas?"
Ione respond quizically, "you mean the Northern Commander of the Pharastia
army?"
"Yes, I must speak with him abut a debt that must be repaid...as soon
as possible," replies Kamorge
Ione puzzeled asks, "Galvas is a very wealthy man. How is it he has come
to owe you?"
Kamorge calmly replies, "Some debts are not monetary."
Reyna standing on the sidelines of this converstation jumps in, "Ione
we can't take him to see Galvas we baely know him, how do we know we can trust
him."
Ione also replies with calmness, "True we do not know him, but you only
need look into his eyes and respect him."
Anyways to make a short story out of history. Bastion and group goes on. In an ambush kamorge is killed. Bastion later on finds out he's the king of the kingdom ho was thought to have been killed when the empire invaded the kingdom captial 15 years ago. Now he's a man and begins his kingship with quite a few good advisors. Later on he gets the help of other kingdoms in his fight against the empire and then the use of the ultragunner ATAC. With it he goes into the empire and starts defeating his opponents, but the empire is not just going to roll-over and die, especially not now that Faulkner has assinated the king and captured control of the empire with the dim-witted Duyere. Also the evil mad scientist Madoc creates a new fersome ATAC called the sharking which is designed to kill the pilots of enemy ATACs. Well More people join the army of bastion and they head in from teh north defeating opponents left and right all at a tiring pace. When finally they come to teh capitol of the empire and Faulkner is waiting for him with the many minions he has corrupted with the power of the Zulwarm ATAC. Some of whom said they wouldn't fight for Faulkner anymore. The battle to end all battles is faught and lasts for several days and nights as pure skill and strategy is used to do as much damage as possible to the enemy ATACs. Finally When the dust clears all that's left is Bastion and Faulkner staring each other down.
Bastion with his impatience charges Faulkner who easily doges and counters with a devasting attack but Bastion isn't really without Allies at this crucial point in the battle his friends are still alive but their ATACs are imoblixed where all they can do is there support magics to cure and grant him a little bit more power. Faulkner thinking he has Bastion right where he wants him makes a Fatile mistake that Bastion capitolizes on and kills Faulkner once and for all.
Finally everyone may rejoice the war is over. The evil have been destoryed or captured. The rebuilding of the great Kingdoms can begin again. With a new and interesting twist Bastion adn Sadria decide to get married seems like there battle on teh edge of death brought them very close together and everyone rejoices for the obvious show of love between the two.
10 years later....the marrige between bastion adn Sadria is going stronger than ever. The rebuilding has finally come to a climax after the hard battle of putting down the left over bandits and those that wish to start countries with force leftover from the long dramatic war. In a bid to never have the awesome power of the ATACs used for harm again all the countries come together and destoryed all the excavted ATACs especially the zulwarm and ultragunner ATACs. Then all other ATACs and their blueprints to make sure no one can cause the terrible destruction that happened soo recently.
PRESENT DAY......the 3rd Eptian Wars.
It has been several hundred years since the prosperous rule of the fair and just Prince Bastion and Princess Sadria. There have been many cruel and corupt rulers to come each generation is worse than the other. The continet has fallen into a dark age. No one can trust the governments anymore. This has left the citizenry one alternative.....REBELLION!
It first starts out as one group who fails, then turns into several groups all over teh continent until they finally start succeeding. Each present ruler is cast out and killed in horrendous and unspeakable matters by the mob of angry peasants who just can't take anymore.
Now no one knows who's in control of what. City governments quickly pop-up to ensure everyday survival. Rumors of the great ATACs are being told in every bar and tavern....the search has begun for the long lost ATAC technology. The evil ATAC genius Madoc hid all of his blueprints away in a cave long forgotten by everyone else(he also destoryed the blueprints fo some of his more destructive ATACs so they couldn't be used as evidence against him when he was captured). Also Madoc's grandson hid blueprints all over teh continet just becauseof his love of the technology so he could tinker with it when he wanted and when he could without getting in trouble. Needless to say in these searchs the hiding places were descovered and ATAC production began as fast as humanly possible. Soon every governmen was getting one or two to help with defense against their neighbor who had one or two.
So this is the scene of today's battles. The great Kingdoms only own their capitol cities just like all the other cities own their own citires and no more. Now the quest to unit the contient uner one banner begins once again. Some do it as a mision to unite the continet, some as a way to get richer, other's just because they want to fight, and other's for even worse reasons......only you can tell what happens......
Finally finsihed the storyline. There might be more if I want the storyline to go together with what's happening in the game but I don't think i will be doing that. Sorry for any misspellings and grammatical errors I was ina rush and just wanted to get it done which is why it's not all descriptive like the very begnning of the 2nd eptinan wars. So anyways tell me what you guys think, even though I'm not the best writer in the world.
